Bandhan Bank : India's newest full fledged Bank with 501 branches

Bandhan bank is the newest player in Indian banking field who has started their operation from today, 23 Aug with over 500 hundred branches (501 to be precise) across the country and 1.43 crore accounts. The bank has a loan book of Rs. 10500 crore with 19,500 employees appointed, along with 501 branches it also has 2022 service centres  and 50 working ATM's in 24 states.Bandhan bank will have around 71% of their branches in rural areas.

Chandra shekhar ghosh is the founder, managing director and CEO of bandhan bank which is head quartered in Kolkata will have two divisions micro-banking and general banking. Union finance minister Arun jaitley and west bangal finance minister were present at the inaugration function with Chandra shekhar ghosh held at science city auditorium.

Chandra shekhar mentioned that the bank will focus on their 'customer first' policy and will treat every customer equally weather they are small or big.

According to Reserve bank of India's license norms, new bank should have atleast  Rs.500 crore capital but bandhan bank has started their venture with 2,570 crore which will be increased to 3000 crore soon.

Bandhan bank has began as a non - profit micro finance enterprise in 2001 and transformed into a non-banking finance company in 2006.
