Iphone 6S & Iphone 6S plus launched with 3D Touch along with other Apple products
Iphone 6S & Iphone 6S plus launched with 3D Touch along with other Apple products
"Gone the past here comes the new generation iPhones."
Apple has unveiled their much hyped iPhones of 'S' year with force touch last night @ Bill Graham civil auditorium in San Francisco. The new iPhones dubbed as Iphone 6S and Iphone 6S plus and as we mentioned earlier this is the 'S' year for iPhones, these are no different from the last year iPhones in terms of design but the notable change came to existence when one pickup the phone and start using it.
The New Inside
The latest Apple phones are packed with a new 64 bit A9 chipset and finally comes with 2GB Ram which is a welcome change for iPhone users as Apple finally made their minds to move away from 1GB Ram. The new processor is said to boost 70% and 90% better GPU performance over last year A8 processor which also helps double the performance of the 2nd gen fingerprint scanner. Comparing it with Android devices which has more core processors and plenty more Ram and other specs which looks anytime better than iPhones but that also doesn't make Apple devices sluggish ever thanks to the in-depth optimized software that allows iPhones to perform similar or better than Android devices.
Camera
Apple also added a new iSight camera with a increased 12MP camera module that can record 4K Res. videos which is another notable update and a 5mp shooter in the front for great selfies according to Apple. The quality of last year iPhone cameras were comparable to 12mp or even 16mp sensors found on other devices despite having a 8mp shooter at the back, so it will be interesting to see how the new iSight camera works.
Display
Except the above mentioned changes there is nothing much changed this year, iphones retains the screen dimensions with 4.7 inch 720p display on iPhone 6S and 5.5 inch 1080p display on iPhone 6S plus and gives relief to the competitors with QuadHD(huawei link) and 4K(Sony link) resolution screens. But the most interesting thing that diffenciate it from others is the 3D force touch which shows an extra dimensions to the usual screens. This is one step ahead to force touch which already available in Apple watch & it is difficult to elaborate, one can only touch and feel the difference between the force touch and 3D force touch which is also integrated with Facebook, Instagram, twitter with other apps and not limited to just Apple default apps.
An example for 3D touch is that if you press harder on any integrated app on home screen(3D touch works only on home screen) you will be greeted with extra options like - share, comment, like and other Facebook stuff the same works for email, this pop-up thing is known as peeking according to Apple.
Design
Although the new iPhones looks same as last year's models but this time Apple used a more stronger chassis of aluminum that used to make space shuttles. As per Apple, the new aluminum body will further enhance the durability and will make it safe from bending, issue that faced by users last year with iPhone 6 plus.
Software
Apple iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S plus will sail on IOS9 which was introduced at WDC this year but the OS on new iPhones includes some new features Apple Pay, picture-in-picture video, and new split screen app also improved Apple maps. Apple also introduced a new Rose Gold color option.
Pricing & Availability
The new IPhone 6S with 16GB storage will cost $199 on contact and $299 for 16GB iPhone 6S plus. You can get the expanded storage model by adding $100 dollar for 64GB and another $100 dollar for 128GB model. IPhones can be pre-order from 12 September and will be available on Apple stores from 25th September. Unfortunately the countries listed for the launch doesn't have India for now but will soon get the chance to taste the new Apple.
Other innovations
Along with iPhones Apple also revealed Apple TV, IPad pro, smart keyboard, Apple watch and Apple pencil.
Apple TV
You can now use your voice to search movies and programs on Apple TV and also music from Apple music which is now included with Apple TV. The TV runs on a new OS called TVOS based on IOS, so from now developers can build apps for TV just like the do for Iphones. Apple also plans to introduce console gaming later on TVOS. The new Apple TV will cost $149 for 32GB variant and $199 for 64GB varient which will be available from October.
IPad Pro
Apple strengthen their IPad line by announcing a 12.9" inch IPad Pro. The tablet is powered by new A9X processor which will boost performance by 1.8x when compared to the later one. It comes with 2742×2048 resolution and is 6.9mm thick which can lasts upto 10 hours according to Apple. The new iPad costs starts from $799 for 32GB and wooping $1079 for 128GB which also has 4G.
Apple pencil
Apple also introduced one of Steve Job's idea which he mentioned 8 years ago by launching Apple pencil, a stylus that can be used as pen or pencil and works on new iPad pro, the pencil is powered and will required charge, this can be done with IPad Pro. This is a expensive pencil and costs $99.
Smart keyboard
The smart keyboard works with IPad Pro and gives full fledged PC experience, it also doubles as a stand and is detachable. The keyboard costs $169.
Apple watch
Apple partnered with Hermes for providing durable and stylish smart watch, the partnership added more colors and finely crafted wrist bands to its range. The Apple watch Hermes costs starts from $1,100 and goes upto $1,500. It is also believed that there are around 10,000 apps available and its going to get Facebook messenger app integration.
