Android M is Now Officially named as 'Marshmallow'

Last week google asked everyone 'What M going to be? ' in a video but after teasing it too much in a week including today's this google+ post, they finally announced the name 'Marshmallow' and the final SDK version of Android M with a third preview version which was first released on 28th may 2015  (possibly the last)which can be loaded on nexus devices, Google has also told developers in their Developers blog to finalize their apps for marshmallow and accepting marshmallow completable apps in Google play and now can be uploaded.

Along with SDK version google also updated Android Support Library to v23 which helps integrating fingerprint support Doze power saving mode and API's permissions. The preview update is only available for new nexus devices (nexus5, nexus6, nexus9 and nexus player) for testing purpose and will be getting OTA update in couple of days.

Features to look out for

Android Marshmallow had a redesigned permission model and now categorized it to only 8 permissions and apps now can be restricted for a particular set of permission not to access by the app which user can be modified at anytime but is only for the new Marshmallow 6.0 completable apps while the other apps continue to use their old set of permissions. Marshmallow6.0 comes the support for fingerprint recognition which can be used for unlocking phone, authenticate it on Google play and pay through Android pay (Google wallet successor) for purchases. Google also introduced 'DOZE' a battery management system which restrict's background activities when OS detect's that the device is not physically handled. A Type-C connector which can be used to charge other devices through USB and 'verified links' that can be opened within the application without further users prompts.
