Google celebrates 100th anniversary of traffic lights

Today google celebrates 101st anniversary of Traffic lights with Google doodle by putting a special doodle on Google's homepage.

The first traffic light was developed on 1914 by  Lester wire but the first electronic traffic signal was installed by an American traffic signal company on the corner of East 105th street Euclid Avenue in  Cleveland, Ohio.

The traffic lights were nonelectric and gas operated, the police officers have to manually operate it to guide the vehicles before Lester wire revolutionized the idea by using red green lights which was made electronically operated by the American traffic signal company and the revolutionary idea now used all over the world.
