Update: porn sites are banned in india
Earlier we reported that government has banned 13 most popular porn sites India but the ban has gone too far and government has now blocked 857 porn sites. The ministry of communication and information technology in its order of July 31 under section 79(3)(b) of the IT act 2000 has banned sites for showing immoral and indecent content.
Government has also asked all the internet providers (ISP's) to block hundreds of adult websites. Networks providers got those orders on Friday but some companies still didn't blocked all sites but will do it in couple of days because they have to block each site one by one.
The reaction on Twitter regarding the ban shows how much people's are angry with government's step of blocking these sites and some are making fun of it. Voice raised against the ban also includes celebrities and directors too, bollywood actress sonam kapoor who always gets the media attention by her awful comments has shown her views on Twitter she said
"Ban idiots who think banning things is going to make a difference to Indian mentality. #sooverthisgovt #NextBanIdea #sick #ashamed"

Despite the ban we can still visit those sites on a mobile device and the easiest way to do that would be proxies and VPNs. Downloading a free VPN app can do it for you, just by setting up a different countries to bypass a geographically blocked contents.
